Home Visits

Home visits by a GP are reserved for patients who are clinically assessed as housebound. This means the patient is physically unable to leave their home due to serious illness or disability. Home visits are not provided for reasons such as lack of transport or convenience.

To ensure timely and efficient care, all home visit requests must be made before 10:00 AM. This allows the medical team to assess the urgency of the visit and allocate resources appropriately. Requests made after this time may need to be deferred to the following day unless deemed an emergency by a clinician.

If you or a loved one require a home visit, please contact the surgery as early as possible in the morning. Our team will assess the request and determine the most appropriate course of action. In many cases, a phone consultation may be suitable as an alternative to a home visit.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring that home visits are reserved for those in genuine medical need. If you are uncertain about eligibility, please speak with our reception team for guidance.
